Abstract: In this paper will attempt to summarize H. Kissinger’s diplomatic approach to important international issues that have occasionally been of special concern for the US foreign policy. His decisions were instrumental in shaping political situations, creating a climate of hegemony and controversial political ethics as he dominated US foreign policy planning and practice from 1969 to 1977, both as National Security Advisor and as Secretary of State. His policy was grounded on the philosophy of realism, the Westphalian balance of power model, and the 19th century European state-building model that he tried to apply in the post-war period, particularly during the “Cold War” period, creating the vision of the “new order” he wanted to impose.
